The FlameKeepers Hat Club BARTS pays tribute to the Black Arts Repertory Theatre/School, the groundbreaking Harlem institution founded in 1965 by poet, playwright, and activist Amiri Baraka. BARTS became one of the foundational institutions of the Black Arts Movement—a cultural awakening that championed Black creativity, self-expression, and the power to tell our own stories.

That same spirit of individuality inspired this hat.

Crafted in a sophisticated neutral tone, The BARTS is brought to life by a bold brown polka-dot band that twists, folds, and moves around the crown and lays on top of a bed of camouflage almost like a work of art itself. The unexpected pattern against the understated felt creates a beautiful tension between tradition and experimentation.
